On 17 September, our Grade 3 students hosted 29 Punggol Primary School students to commemorate 50 years of friendship between Korea and Singapore. Our students were very excited to welcome our friends from Punggol Primary School, and we made lots of preparations for this special day. We played many traditional Korean games together, including Ddakji, Yut Nori, Tuho and Sabangchigi. Our friends also had the opportunity to put on a hanbok, and we took some photos at the photo booth for our friends to take home as souvenirs.
One of the highlights of the day was the performance by our Samulnori students. Our Punggol friends were captured by their performance. They also learned about Taekwondo and had fun practicing a few kicks. The most thrilling part was when we got to break some wooden boards! We had lots of fun interacting with one another, learning about each other's cultures and traditions. We are grateful for the time we had to strengthen our ties with our Singaporean friends via the school exchange program.
